Mary I. Melton |
 |
 Ms. Melton was admitted to the California Bar in 1993. She graduated cum laude from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and from U.C. Davis School of Law with her Juris Doctorate. She has experience in all aspects of litigating employment cases, from prevailing on multiple motions for summary judgment in state and federal court to arguing before the California appellate court. She has counseled numerous employers on compliance with employment laws and conducted sexual harassment prevention training. Ms. Melton has also defended employers before the Labor Commission and written hundreds of administrative law decisions for the Social Security Administration’s Office of Disability Adjudication and Review.
In addition to all of the state courts of California, Ms. Melton is admitted to federal practice in the U.S. District Court of California – Eastern and Northern Districts. She has served as Treasurer to the Sacramento County Bar – Employment Section. Her practice areas include: Workplace and Employment Regulation, Professional Licensing and Regulation, and Civil Litigation and Appeals. |
